It is my honour and privilege to welcome, on behalf of the Secretariat and on my personal behalf,the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Leaders of Delegation and distinguished Delegates from The Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia and Sierra Leone to Accra, Ghana for the series of meetings of the International Committees of Council which will be held at the Conference Room of the West African Examinations Council, Accra from Monday, January 16 to Tuesday, January 24, 2012. AKWAABA!

Our expectation as Secretariat is that the meetings will witness the usual cordial interaction, dispassionate discussion of issues and emergence of enduring decisions. We are confident that the meetings will set the tone for the Council’s attainment of new and loftier heights this year.

We thank God for the grace of life, good health, divine favour and modest achievements in 2011 and we pray that His grace will remain with all of us in greater abundance in 2012 and beyond. We appreciate the Chairman and Members of Council for their keen interest in and support for the growth of the Council and development of education in West Africa. On our part as Secretariat, we pledge our unalloyed commitment at all times to the accomplishment of the Vision and Mission of our flagship organization.

We wish our esteemed Chairman and Council Members a Happy and Prosperous New Year, a successful series of meetings and journey mercies back home at the end of the meetings.
