Distinguished gentlemen of the media, it is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this briefing. It is always a privilege to interact with you at such fora.  On behalf of the Management and, indeed, the entire staff of the Nigeria National Office of the West African Examinations Council, I wish to express, as on previous occasions, my heartfelt gratitude to you for the understanding and partnership which the Council has enjoyed from the media over the years.

You have assisted the Management in no small measure, by throwing more light on the activities and operations of the Council in Nigeria with your pens, microphones and cameras. It is my prayer that this cordial relationship should continue. 

Gentlemen of the media, as part of the Council’s efforts to improve service delivery and to bring its services closer to its numerous stakeholders; the Council is in the process of relocating its zonal office in Maiduguri, Borno State, to a befitting permanent office.
