The Liberia National Office of WAEC has launched the Online Information Services which will enable candidates in the country to register for WAEC examinations and access their results through the internet.
In his welcome statement at the launch which took place at the WAEC Office, Monrovia, recently, the Head of National Office, Prof. Thomas K. Gaie, expressed appreciation to the service provider, Dolbib Nigeria Ltd, for assisting the Monrovia office to realize its dream of ICT deployment to match the level of technology-driven service delivery systems already attained by the Council in most other member countries. He indicated that WAEC Liberia would continue to uphold the Council’s integrity by maintaining the sanctity of its examinations and certificates, adding that the online information services would help to ensure that the results presented by candidates were authentic. On the impact of this development, the HNO said that the online facility would ensure capacity building for Liberians as it required that Computer Literacy formed part of the National Curriculum to be taught in all schools.
The Honorable Minister of Education, Republic of Liberia, Dr. Joseph D. Z. Korto, who officially launched the ICT facility, commended the vision of the Head of National Office and his staff for placing WAEC Liberia on a pedestal as other member countries of the Council in terms of Information Technology. He pledged the Ministry’s continuous support for the programs initiated by the Liberia National Office of WAEC, adding that he would officially inform the President of Liberia about the new development.
On behalf of the Chief Government Nominee of Liberia on Council and Members of the Liberia Administrative and Finance Committee of WAEC, a Government Nominee, Hon. (Mrs.) Yah Suah Kialain, who also spoke on the occasion, congratulated the Head of National Office and his Management Team on the enviable achievement which had placed Liberia on the map of global technology along with other Council offices. She pledged her undaunted support for all future developmental endeavors of WAEC Liberia.
The Chief Executive Officer of Dolbib, Mr. Kehinde Akinsanya, expressed delight that his company was able to provide service to WAEC Liberia and thanked the HNO and the Management Team for the confidence reposed in his company, adding that he looked forward to further working relationship with the Council.
