Let me warmly welcome you all to the inaugural launching of the WAEC Endowment Fund Quiz Competition, with this edition being between two member countries of the West African Examinations Council – the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Republic of Sierra Leone.

This quiz competition is aimed at creating a forum for stimulating academic competition, healthy rivalry and significantly strong ties of friendship among the students of the member countries of WAEC. It is also meant to inject a lighter side to the understanding and appreciation of Mathematics and the Sciences through fora like these, which will hopefully unveil the mystery that often times shroud these subjects leading to a source of fear for many students. It is yet another landmark event in furtherance of the objectives of the WAEC Endowment Fund which was established in 1982 to, among others, promote educational development projects of an international nature.
