    TECHNICAL AND COMMERCIAL EXAMINATIONS

    The Ghana General/Advanced Business Certificate Examinations.

    The examinations were conducted from 2nd May to 1st June, 2006. The Patronage registered a decline of 17.91% from 6,812 to 5,592.  The results of the Advanced level examination were released on 27th October, 2006 whilst the General level results were released on 6th November, 2006.

    COMPETITIVE EXAMINATIONS CONDUCTED FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE PUBLIC SERVICES OF MEMBER COUNTRIES

    APTITUDE TESTS AND SELECTION EXAMINATIONS
    Aptitude tests and Selection Examinations were administered by the National Offices for some public and private institutions.  The Aptitude Tests Department of the Research Division developed most of the test batteries.

    The tests were conducted by the National offices as follows:

    THE  GAMBIA

    There were 703 candidates which showed a decrease of 30.19% relative to the 2005 figure of 1,007.

    GHANA

    The total entry figure was, 3,009 as against 5,882 in 2005.  This showed a significant decrease of 48.84%.

    LIBERIA

    Patronage of the examination stood at 278 which reflected a decrease of 9.45% as compared to the previous year’s figure of 307.

    NIGERIA

    There was a relative decrease in the patronage of the examinations with a candidature of 26,869 as compared to the previous year’s figure of 30,092.

    SIERRA LEONE

    324 candidates participated in the examinations as against 2143 in 2005.  This reflected a decrease of 84.88%.
