The meetings of various Committees of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Sierra Leone were held in Freetown from Tuesday, October 26 to Friday, October 29, 2010. The Committees that met during the period included the Sierra Leone Aptitude Tests and Examinations Committee (SLATEC), Sierra Leone Administrative and Finance Committee (SLAF) and the Sierra Leone National Committee (SLNC) which is the highest decision-making organ of the Council in Sierra Leone. The Council’s Committees are made up of Government nominees as well as representatives of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Universities, Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (CPSS) and other interests.
On behalf of the Chairman, Members of Council and entire Staff of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) in Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, The Gambia and Liberia, I congratulate the Black Stars of Ghana on their spectacular performance in their first Match in the ongoing 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa.
The 68th Meeting of the International Final Awards and Examiners’ Appointments Committee (IFAEAC) of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) was held on Thursday and Friday, April 22 and 23, 2010 in Accra, Ghana.
The 58th Annual Meeting of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has ended in Monrovia, Liberia with the election of Liberia’s Deputy Minister of Education and Chief Government Nominee on Council, Honourable (Mrs.) Hester Williams-Catakaw, as Vice-Chairman for a one-year tenure. She succeeds Mr. Sheku T. Tamu of Sierra Leone.
